Dr. Litle has over 22 years of experience successfully adjusting subluxations of the neck, back and all extremities for thousands of patients.

Headaches (migraines, sinus and tension)

Latest research shows 9% of men and 12% of women in the US experience 1-2 headache episodes each month. 4% of the US population suffers more frequent headaches occurring at least 180 days a year. There are numerous types of headaches such as classic migraines, atypical migraines, cluster headaches, and tension, to name a few. Headaches can be caused by a variety of sources such as muscle spasms, nerve entrapment, allergies, vision complications, hormones, medications etc.

At Back and Rehab Clinic, our various treatments for headaches include traction, massage, heat and chiropractic adjustments. Whiplash Injury

A whiplash neck injury occurs when there is a sudden backward and forward or side to side whipping movement of the neck or back commonly occurring from an automotive accident. The injury stretches muscles and ligaments potentially resulting in early degenerative joint disease. Whiplash is one of the most misunderstood of all conditions. The damage from a whiplash injury may take years to manifest. The injury can be serious even from a small impact.

Early detection and treatment of a whiplash injury by Dr. Litle at the Back and Rehab Clinic is very important as an appropriate evaluation and proper treatment can help minimize future complications significantly reducing development of more serious conditions in future years.

typically result from overuse or improper body mechanics due to muscle imbalance, poor posture, etc. Bracing, exercise and therapy modalities are helpful in resolving these complaints.

Foot Pain

Dr. Litle is able to evaluate your feet and help determine the origin of your pain. Custom orthotics (shoe inserts) are available if indicated as is proper shoe recommendations.

Fibromyalgia is a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is unknown. More women than men suffer from this condition. Fibromyalgia patients often describe their aches and pains as being similar to how they feel when they have an extreme case of the flu. Every muscle in their body hurts and they feel completely exhausted. Chiropractic treatment can be helpful to reduce pain and help patients manage this condition.

Osteoarthritis/Degenerative Joint Disease

Osteoarthritis is a condition characterized by degeneration of the cartilage cushions in the joints between bones, generally accompanied by pain and stiffness. This condition is more common in older individuals and in joints previously exposed to injury. Dr. Litle has treated many patients who suffer from osteoarthritis. Palliative care (comforting or relieving, but not curative) using Chiropractic therapies is effective in helping reduce pain, improving mobility and provide more comfort.

Pain radiates from the low back into the buttock and the back of the leg along the course of the sciatic nerve. At the Back and Rehab clinic, Dr. Litle determines where the sciatic nerve maybe getting irritated and then offers treatment recommendations with a focus on reducing the pain.

Spinal Stenosis

Spinal Stenoisis is the abnormal narrowing of the internal diameter of the vertebral canal or exiting nerve root canal which may result in spinal cord or nerve root compression. At the Back and Rehab clinic, Dr. Litle works with patients to try to offer conservative relief for the arm or leg pain that typically accompanies this condition.

Carpal Tunnel

Carpal Tunnel receives its name from 8 bones in the wrist called carpals that form a tunnel like structure. It also provides a pathway for the median nerve to reach sensory cells in the hand. Tendons that connect fingers to muscles in the forearm also pass through the tunnel. Repetitive flexing and extension of the wrist may cause a thickening of the protective sheaths which surrounds each of the tendons. The swollen tendon sheaths apply pressure to the median nerve which produces carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS). Symptoms may include painful tingling of one or both hands commonly in the thumb, index , middle and ring fingers. Severe cases can result in loss of strength in the hands. Treatments can be successful with conservative chiropractic care using proper splinting and exercise.

Disc Protrusion

Disc protrusion occurs when a portion of the soft center of a disc, located between the vertebrae of the spine, pushes out through a weakened portion of the outside, denser portion of the disc. Causes of disc protrusion can result from a variety of situations ranging from a single event as simple as bending over to tie your shoe, or can occur gradually overtime. These occur most commonly in the lower back or neck. Most of the time there will be corresponding pain or numbness that will radiate into either legs or arms. Many times disc protrusions can be managed conservatively though may progress to a point that surgical intervention is necessary. Our treatment protocals typically include initial pain management with therapy modalities and bracing and progressively working with core exercises and spinal decompression/traction.

Muscle Spasms

This is an involuntary tightening or contraction of a muscle or group of muscles. These maybe from the muscle itself or commonly is a response (symptom) of other injury or problem such as a joint subluxation or disc protrusion. Our examination help to determine the cause of the spasm and determine treatment approach.

Strains and Sprains

An overuse or sudden injury to a muscle (strain) or ligament (sprain) in which some of the tissue fibers may be stretched or torn. Ultrasound and massage therapy, bracing and rehabilitative exercises are our typical treatment approach.

Rotator Cuff Injuries (shoulder injury)

involves the tendons of the four small muscles that make up the rotator cuff. Their job is to maintain the alignment of the ball and socket joint of the shoulder. Injury can be a strain of a tendon, which will respond to our care which would include therapies such as friction massage, ice, ultrasound as well as resistance exercises. More serious injury could have a partial to complete tear of a tendon. If a tear is suspected, an MRI is necessary to fully evaluate injury and may require referral to an orthopedic surgeon.
